The Department of Mathematics at Union Christian College, Aluva is recognized as one of the leading departments under Mahatma Gandhi University. Established in 1925, the department was elevated to postgraduate status in 1965 and became a Research Department in 1999. Notably, it produced the first Ph.D. in Mathematics awarded by an affiliated college of Mahatma Gandhi University.
